A bit about me!
You’ve stumbled across my little corner of creativity and culinary flare. Welcome!
I was first inspired to start My Kai when my friends started having kids. I felt at a loss as to how to help with the continuous load that is running a household. I know myself, and even as a trained chef I often felt I could barely keep up with my own schedule and obligations, as well as cook dinner at the end of a long day. I tried to order some freezer meals for them, but found the variety rather lackluster. I wanted my friends to enjoy something homemade and delicious, something that would nourish them. I ended up taking a weekend to batch make my own, cramming my friends freezer with as much lasagna and chicken curry as I could possibly prepare.
I realized we’re missing the heart and soul from a lot of the food we consume today, we’re busy and we’re tired and sometimes convenience means scrolling uber eats or scrounging the cupboards for something microwaveable. I think we deserve better options.
With these core values in mind, My Kai became more than an idea. Here we pride ourselves on crafting food that’s small batch prepared. I work to source produce locally, whilst consciously looking after our environment as best I can in the process (my worm farm loves all these extra food scraps!). I’m working to make meals easier.
Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, My Kai now offers private chef prepared meals and catering options with a focus on seasonal, wholesome food. Whether you’ve got a friend in need of a homemade meal, you need a helping hand when it comes to meal planning, or you have a dinner party or event, we’d love to help
We love collaborating on menus, and can craft something bespoke to suit. With experience catering to dietary requirements, our food is made with care and attention to detail.
We hope My Kai reaches your home,
